NADINE Dorries (pictured), the Tory MP voted off 'I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!', admitted yesterday she was not granted permission to appear on the reality television show but had been allowed a month away.
The 55-year-old became the first contestant to be voted out of the jungle, leaving her ambition to introduce political debate to new voters in tatters.
The Tory MP for Mid-Bedfordshire later learnt she had been suspended from the Conservative Party after a furore erupted over her appearance.
Mrs Dorries hit back yesterday over claims she had not sought permission to have a month off.
But she hit back at accusations she had abandoned her constituents, insisting that while she was not given permission to appear on the show, she had been granted leave for a month.
