Women cyclists bring Britain's gold medal tally to 11 - BBC News

Britain have 11 gold medals after winning the women's team pursuit at the velodrome.

Team GB are now only below China and the USA on the medals table.

Dani King, Laura Trott and Joanna Rowsell won in a world record-breaking time of 3 minutes 14.051 seconds.

Trott said afterwards: "It has been my dream since I was eight - and we have just gone and done it."

Golds also came from Andy Triggs Hodge, Pete Reed, Andy Gregory and Tom James in the men's four rowing event.

Then a fantastic row by lightweight double sculls Sophie Hosking and Katherine Copeland brought home gold number two.

Britain now have 26 medals with eleven golds, seven silvers and eight bronzes.

And there's a good chance of two more gold medals tonight.

Jessica Ennis competes in the final event of the heptathlon - the 800m at 8.45pm and Mo Farah runs the 10,000m at 9.15pm.
