India v England: live - Telegraph.co.uk

OVER 2: England 6-0. Cook 1 Bell 2
Shami Ahmed takes the ball from the other end and straight up has a shout for lbw turned down - the ball definitely missing leg, though. Shami is also finding a bit of swing and Bell gets a thick outside edge down to third man for a single. A distinct lack of footwork there from the England opener, he'll need to rectify that if the ball keeps fizzing like it is. There's no great pace from these two Indian seamers but they're getting good shape on the ball.

OVER 1: England 4-0. Cook 1 Bell 1
First ball of the day and England are off and running as Alastair Cook clips the ball off his legs for a single. It's very foggy in Mohali as Bhuvneshwar Kumar chunders in and finds a bit of swing. Bell also gets off the mark with a single, played with an open face down to third man. Nice bit of zip off the penultimate ball angles away from Cook and just avoids clipping the outside edge.

The evidence is mounting to suggest that Eoin Morgan is not up to coming in when the two balls are still new and playing a long innings. He is the best finisher England have, the nearest they can get to MS Dhoni when the last five overs of an innings have to be plundered. But that is hitting, whereas England need batting of sound technique near the top of the order - Scyld Berry

0620 Bit of England team news for you... Buttler is in for Kieswetter as wicketkeeper.

India: Gambhir, Sharma, Kohli, Yuvraj, Raina, Dhoni, Jadeja, Ashwin, Kumar, Sharma, Shami

England: Cook, Bell, Pietersen, Root, Morgan, Buttler, Patel, Tredwell, Finn, Dernbach, Bresnan

0615 Kevin Pietersen copped some flak from former India captain Sourav Ganguly in the Hindustan Times. "Kevin Pietersen baffles me in the shorter format," he writes. "He struggles to pace his innings and that's why he's an under-performer." That's probably fair, KP needs a big innings if England are to rescue this series.

0605 India captain MS Dhoni has won the toss and chosen to bowl first.

0600 Good morning and welcome to our live commentary from the fourth one-day international in chilly Mohali.

Let's set the scene. England need a win here to get back into this series - they trail 2-1 - and ensure it goes down to a winner-takes-all shoot-out in Dharamsala.

If Virat Kohli is to be believed, though, the chances of the fifth ODI taking place - it's scheduled to be played in the Himalayas of all places - are slim due to the (literally) freezing-cold weather, so this match takes on even more significance.

Not that it's that much warmer in Mohali. Six degrees last time I checked. England appear to be comfortable with these temperatures, but India's players have got every layer they own on. They're probably hoping the Himalayan one-dayer is called off but, with views like this, let's hope not...
