A SECTION of electricity cable has been removed for examination after the deaths of two horses at Newbury racecourse.
Fenix Two and Marching Song were in the mounting yard when they fell to the ground and died at the English track on Saturday.
Some form of electric shock is the most likely cause of death.
Marching Song's trainer Andy Turnell said the five-year-old's death was a huge blow for his stable.
"My head travelling lad, Colin, held the horse's head and said he felt some form of electricity through his head," Turnell said.
"The horse suffered slightly but was dead within 30 seconds."
