Detectives are examining text messages sent from her telephone and postings on her Facebook social networking site which gave the impression she was still alive.
Mr Lindo and his new girlfriend, aged 29, were at the Old Bridge Hotel, Holmfirth, when police arrived and were both arrested on suspicion of murder.
The woman was later released, but detectives have been granted a magistrates' extension to continue questioning him.
Miss Stewart, who was previously married, worked as a classroom assistant at a local school and leaves a three year old daughter Isabelle and and one year old son.
Mr Lindo taught at a local music college, is musical director of the Heavy Arts Theatre School, Brighouse, and played keyboard in a local pub.
Tracy Barber, 31, a near neighbor, said: "I would see him going to work in a suit every day and he would take Isabelle to nursery.
"He is a lovely, friendly quiet man and I would regularly speak to him. He told me Marie had left him and the children before Christmas.
"Nobody had seen anything of Marie, but we thought nothing of it and he continued in his regular routine of going to work and runs to the nursery."
A few weekends ago Mrs Barber noticed his new girlfriend's red Vauxhall Corsa parked in the driveway alongside his Peugeot and realised she must have moved in with him and the children.
She added: "There seemed to be nothing shady going on, but now it is really creepy to think they were al living there while poor Marie's body was just a door away under the same roof."
Another neighbor, who did not want to be named, said Mr Lindo and Miss Stewart had moved to the property in Perseverance Place 15 months ago.
She said an older woman, assumed to be a grandparent, was a regular visitor to the house..
"Before he was arrested, Andrew told me he'd just had a call from his solicitor telling him he had custody of the children," she added.
Mr Lindo, who studied a Huddersfield University, a former member of the Tees Valley Youth Choir and Orchestra and played in a soul band called Battered Soul.
