France: Family of ex-Tunisian leader 'not welcome' - TODAYonline

PARIS (AP) - The French government says family members of Tunisia's ousted President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali are not welcome in France and are leaving.

French spokesman Francois Baroin says Ben Ali's family "have not shown a desire to stay on French soil and are going to leave."

Baroin, speaking Saturday on France-Info radio, said the family is "not welcome to stay." He didn't specify which family members are currently in France.

Ben Ali fled Tunisia for Saudi Arabia on Friday following a month of deadly riots over unemployment and corruption in his North African nation. Saudi Arabian officials say some members of Ben Ali's family came with him.
