Davos, Jan 29: WikiLeaks defectors has formally launched a rival whistle-blowing website OpenLeaks on Friday, Jan 28. Several former members of WikiLeaks created this website in protest of methods used by Julian Assange, in releasing the secret diplomatic cables. Last year, WikiLeaks caused an embarrassment for US in worldwide by releasing over 250,000 classified documents what was called as "foreign policy."

The OpenLeaks does not entail to publish the information, rather, allows other organization access to OpenLeaks website and make it available to interested media organizations, NGOs, labor unions, and human rights groups.

Sources said that the new whistle-blower will be initially coupled with five newspapers around the world, later will expand the reach, with the interested organization.

"We do not seek to publish information ourselves, but rather to enable third parties to do so. The public already trusts them, with their existing capabilities and experience to analyze and work on submitted material. We, in effect, simply enable them to receive information that they otherwise might not get access to in their local jurisdictional environment," OpenLeaks said.
