They made their recording debut with an indie label EP the following year before signing to Island Records in 2009.
The band's rootsy feel and bluesy vocals have helped to draw a following in the US, augmented by their songs featuring in TV shows such as Grey's Anatomy. Sigh No More has also made it to number six in the US album chart.
Interest in the band also gathered pace last year when they were shortlisted for the Mercury Prize, losing out to The xx.
