Facebook snap 'saved young cancer patient's life' - Mirror.co.uk

A YOUNG boy was diagnosed with cancer after his dad posted a photo on Facebook.

Philip Rice was urged to take Ted, four, to hospital by a doctor friend just moments after uploading a snap of his lad's unusual rash.

Dr Sara Barton recognised the rash as a symptom of acute lymphocytic leukaemia. Ted now faces three years of gruelling chemotherapy.

Mr Rice, 34, of Bury, who has shaved his head to match his son, said: "There is a 75% survival rate and the numbers aren't good enough when it's your child. That picture probably saved us."
