Queen Elizabeth II makes unprecedented invitation - Belfast Telegraph

Queen Elizabeth II has reportedly invited Duchess of Cambridge Catherine Middleton's parents to attend this year's royal Christmas festivities.

The British royal family gathers at the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, England every year over the holidays.

Catherine - who is rumoured to be 12 weeks pregnant - left London's King Edward VII hospital earlier this month after spending three days at the medical centre for acute morning sickness.

Apparently she may be still too ill to join the family at Sandringham.

Us Weekly reports that in a bid to keep the family together, the Queen has extended an invitation to Catherine's parents Carole and Michael Middleton. This is the first time ever that non-royals have been invited to join in this annual event.

Catherine reportedly is unable to finalise whether or not she will be in attendance.

She is taking it day by day and her husband Prince William supports her.

"[She won't decide] until the night before or the morning of," a source told the publication.

"It depends [on] how she feels. And if Catherine doesn't go, William probably won't either."
