I can honestly say that the drivers on the A roads in midlothian appeared to be going 10-20 mph slower this evening as news spread of this tragedy. So very sad.

Just awful truly awful!

This happened just ten minutes from my house. That road is a death trap always has been. Rip to the poor people who lost their lives today and condolences to the family who must be going through hell today of all days.

RIP xxxxxxxx

TO KAREN, STOKE.ENGLAND:- Your words hit a chord, hope your husband is home safely now, for Christmas, and you have told him how much you love him?

Always tragic, particularly poignant when it happens this time of year :-(

Time to put things in perspective. My heart goes out to the families of the deceased. Why do things like this always happen at Christmas.? Does not make sense. Let us all have a peaceful Christmas, hold dear the ones we love, and think about those who have lost their loved ones. Im afraid I am not religious, but I do care. RIP.

Awful news. R.I.P. I think this year has to go down as one of the worst i have ever whitnessed. Mass murder, killings, suicides, deaths, floodings, government in turmoil. When will this needless carnage end? I truly hope next year will see an improvement.

Condolences to families of the deceased. Hope those who survived have a speedy recovery.

Christmas always seems to bring tragedy and heartache for someone. So sad.
