Manchester United v Fulham: live - Telegraph.co.uk

62 min It took Martin Jol an hour to realise fielding a centre-forward against a team with a far from solid back four would be a good idea. Unfortunately for the under-fire Fulham boss, it's far too late.

60 min Change for United. Paul Scholes is on for Carrick. And Fulham make a replacement too. It's Hugo Rodallega on for Duff.

58 min Kacaniklic skips down the left wing to try and spark something - anything - for Fulham. The attack ends with a terrible cross from Duff sailing out for a goal-kick. To be fair to Duff, Fulham haven't fielded a centre-forward so most ball ins won't find a Fulham head.

56 min As I said earlier this result means very little in terms of Fulham's season but this performance, and inevitable defeat, has exposed their shortcomings again. They just look lifeless and flat. I don't imagine rolling over this Fulham outfit takes too much exertion.

54 min Manchester United fans singing a song about them going to Wembley. Que Sera, something? They might not make it there, but they'll definitely be in the hat for the fifth round.

Goal52 min GOAL! MANCHESTER UNITED 3 - FULHAM 0 (Hernandez) Eugh. Miserable defence from Fulham. Just really easy for United to carve that opening. Hughes stretches to divert the ball away from Hernandez but almost immediately the ball is back in the box and this time Hernandez is afforded the chance to shoot. He makes no mistake burying it in the bottom right-hand corner.

Goal50 min GOAL! MANCHESTER UNITED 2 - FULHAM 0 (Rooney) Lovely defence-splitting pass from Anderson just inside the Fulham half finds Rooney and he runs rings around Hughes before flashing a fierce shot past Schwarzer to effectively kill off this cup tie.

48 min Rooney flagged for offside trying to latch onto a long ball. Way off in the end.

47 min Chance! Hughes clears Rooney's goalbound effort - almost - off the line. Corner to United.

46 min We're back under way. And Fulham begin the half on top! The ball falls to Berbatov at the edge of the box but his shot is poor and ricochets off Carrick and away.

18.33 Change for Fulham. Giorgos Karagounis replaces Baird.

18.32 Referee Mark Clattenburg has said Duff's handball incident was not a penalty because "it wasn't deliberate and his arm was in an unnatural position".

18.26 Fulham keeper Mark Schwarzer is already out warming his hands up. He must know he's about to have a busy 45 minutes.

18.24 ESPN pundit Steve McManaman sums up that first-half performance from Fulham: "Insipid."

18.23 I don't know what you're laughing about, Martin, your team has been dreadful:

45+2 min Fulham win a corner that Duff will take. Last chance for an equaliser this half. There's a collisionin the box - looked like Smalling bundled over Sidwell - but Clattenburg's not interested and blows for half-time.

45+1 min We're into the one minute of added time. Rooney's flagged for offside trying to latch on to a bit of route one play from the back.

44 min It's that man Nani, again! He skips into the box and fizzes a shot - or was it a cross? - towards goal. Out for a goal-kick it goes, and out come the groans.

43 min Nani in plenty of space on the right but his cross is blocked out for a throw by Riise, much to the irritation of the United fans.

41 min Nani with a delicious crossfield pass to Giggs, who lays it off to Rooney in the box. The England striker is crowded out, though, and can't get a shot off.

40 min Baird finds Berbatov and he skips away from one defender outside the box before preparing to wind up a shot on goal. Unfortunately for all of us he's dispossessed before he can let rip.

39 min Giggs bundled over by Sidwell on the edge of the Fulham box but Clattenburg - correctly I think - does not blow up. Fulham go up the other end but Ruiz is muscled off the ball and their brief spell of possession comes to nowt.

37 min Sidwell picks off a poor pass from Nani and sparks a Fulham counter-attack. This game is so flat that you can hear Berbatov's cries to be passed the ball, but Duff, over on the left, ignores him again. Poor Dimitar :(

35 min Remember when Berbatov scored against Southampton and revealed that t-shirt saying ' Keep Calm And Pass Me The Ball'? Sidwell just explicitly ignored that order, failing to clip the ball towards the Bulgarian, who had made a lovely run into space.

33 min United camped in the Fulham third but the visitors' tactic of having their whole team behind the ball stifles any chance of a goal-scoring opportunity.

31 min Carrick caught in possession by Ruiz and he streams forward. The Costa Rican has options left and right. He goes right but his poke towards Berbatov is cut out by the defence. United go upfield and sting the gloves of Schwarzer through Rooney. They win a corner that ultimately comes to nothing.

29 min Riise picks out Ruiz and he slides the ball wide to Kacaniklic but the young Swede is flagged for offside.

28 min Another member of the Ryan Giggs Fanclub is Michael Owen:

27 min Sidwell concedes a free-kick and Giggs is the most alert, taking a quick free-kick to try and pick out Anderson. Schwarzer's wise to it, though, and rushes out of his goal to claim the ball.

26 min Riether wins a free-kick after Giggs was pinged for a high foot. You have to appreciate a man of his age being able to get his foot that high. Must be all that...............yoga.

24 min Chance! Nani's in the area with options. He tries to curl a shot past Schwarzer but his measured effort on goal sails past Schwarzer's left post. Rooney may have appreciated a pass there.

23 min Mark Clattenburg appeared to think Duff controlled that ball with his elbow. Either that or he was doing some drinking game elbow motion.

22 min A mail out of leftfield from Tony:

E-mailBest example of a one man team I can think of is the weightlifter from Nauru at last year's Olympics

21 min Chance! Schwarzer keeps Rooney out! The Fulham keeper sees Rooney's shot late but gets his body behind it and deflects the shot against the bar. It's cleared by Hughes and Fulham survive.

20 min Riise cuts out a probing pass from Nani but it's only a brief respite from the United onslaught. Oh, and that's another handball penalty shout for United! Duff sticks his left arm out trying to control an aerial throughball and it looks very much like he handled that!

18 min You'll find this next to 'handball' in the dictionary:

17 min Long ball from Riether is comfortbaly dealt with by Smalling. The ball is spread wide to Nani on the right and United launch another assault on the Fulham goal. They win a corner with Evra's cross deflecting out off Riether.

16 min Riise getting a rollocking from the ESPN commentary team. Apropos of nothing.

15 min Berbatov strokes the ball inside to Sidwell in the United third but the midfielder is dispossessed fairly easily.

13 min Anderson gives the ball away to end a promising United attack. Fulham break forward and succeed in stroking the ball around with confidence around the halfway line.

12 min Hangeland the latest Fulham player attempting to slice open the United defence with an optimistic pass. De Gea getting plenty of picking-up-the-ball-under-no-pressure practice.

10 min Berbatov and Ruiz link up on the right. Very silky. Ruiz gets the ball back and tries to set Kacaniklic free. His throughball is too heavy, though, and De Gea claims.

9 min Kacaniklic gets to the byline on the right flank but concedes a goal-kick before he can cut the ball back.

8 min ESPN just replayed Sidwell's blind pass to Hangeland Rooney. Unforgivably bad bit of play from the Wandsworth lad.

7 min Duff storms forward and knocks the ball wide to Riether on the overlap. The German puts a dangerous enough ball into the mixer but it's beyond Berbatov and out for a throw.

6 min Anderson releases Hernandez down the right. The Mexican links up with Nani, who wins a corner. The set-piece comes to nothing and Fulham counterattack. Ruiz is pretty close to latching onto a long diagonal ball.

5 min Not the start that Fulham had in mind but at least from their fans' perspectives the pain has been frontloaded. For now....

Goal3 min GOAL! MANCHESTER UNITED 1 - FULHAM 0 (Giggs pen) Giggs goes to Schwarzer's right and the Aussie gets a hand on it but there's too much pace behind the penalty and United take the lead.

2 min PENALTY TO MANCHESTER UNITED! Handball from Aaron Hughes in the area as he and ex-Fulham defender Smalling challenged for the ball in the air.

1 min We're under way! Massive chance for United already! Sidwell with a blind ball to Hangeland but only succeeds in giving it to Rooney. The United striker twists and turns but sees his shot deflected out for a corner.

17.29 Not an FA Cup match, but Fulham have won at Old Trafford in recent times. Relive their 3-1 Premiership victory in 2003:

17.26 Stone Roses's 'Fools Gold' being pumped out by the stadium DJ as the players line up in the tunnel:

17.23 Nearly ready to go. Do we think Fulham have 'No Hope'? I think based on their form over the last three months you would have to say so. Fulham fans are already beginning to grumble about Martin Jol, and although this match means nothing in terms of their league campaign, a heavy defeat will not do him any good. Problem is, it's hard to see any other result.

17.20 ESPN playing a pre-match montage soundtracked by 'No Hope' by The Vaccines. Is that a subliminal verdict on Fulham's chances?

17.18 Sir Alex Ferguson has spoken to ESPN before kick-off. He says he's "expecting the unexpected".

17.00 Here's a video reminder of the last time these two sides played in the FA Cup at Old Trafford back in March 2004:
