Two killed as Russian plane crashes - ABC Online

Two people have died after a Russian passenger jet crashed on a major road after overshooting the runway in Moscow.

The plane smashed through a perimeter fence and burst into flames, before breaking into three pieces.

Moscow police say two people were killed in the crash, which occurred near the Vnukovo airport.

There were at least eight people aboard the plane, which was operated by the Russian airline, Red Wings.

It was travelling from the Czech Republic.
