DAVID Cameron last night stood by the top Tory peer who had a seven-year affair with this bikini clad former socialite.

Lord Strathclyde, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and Leader of the House of Lords, romped with posh Birgit Cunningham, 48.

The PM backed the 50-year-old millionaire dad of three who is one of his closest advisers.

A No10 source said: "The PM will not sack Tom Strathclyde over what is essentially a private matter."

Birgit, who lives in West London, once dated Hollywood star Kevin Costner.
