WASHINGTON Feb 2 (Reuters) - The White House on Wednesday condemned violence that has erupted over protests in Egypt and said that it was clear the Egyptian people needed to see progress and change immediately.
"The message that the president (Barack Obama) delivered clearly to President (Hosni) Mubarak was that the time for change had come," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said.
