EastEnders stars Square up to Corrie rival Michelle Keegan - The Sun

CORRIE beauty Michelle Keegan scored a double win after being named Sexiest Female and Best Dressed Soap Star at the Inside Soap Awards.

Michelle, who plays Tina McIntyre, added the two gongs to her total of seven Sexiest Female awards. But EastEnders came out on top with seven awards, including Best Soap.

Gillian Wright – who plays Jean Slater in the BBC1 soap – was named Best Actress.

EastEnders also scooped Best Newcomer for Hetti Bywater as Lucy Beale, while Tameka Empson (Kim Fox) won Funniest Female for the second year running.

Readers voted Ricky Norwood Funniest Male as Arthur "Fat Boy" Chubb, while Charlie Brooks, as Janine Butcher, was crowned Best Bitch. David Witts (Joey Branning) was named Sexiest Male.

The awards in London – sponsored by boohoo.com – also saw Corrie star Alex Bain (Simon Barlow) take Best Young Actor.

Emmett J Scanlan (Brendan Brady) celebrated a double with the Best Actor and Best Bad Boy gongs for C4 soap Hollyoaks.

Neighbours was Best Daytime Soap while Ryan Moloney (Toadie Rebecchi) won the Best Daytime Star award for the third year running. Best Drama went to Waterloo Road for the third time.

But Corrie and Emmerdale stars failed to show up to the awards show last night. A Corrie spokesperson said: "The cast always enjoy the ceremony but this year it clashed with a particularly hectic filming schedule."
