2011 comes in with a bang - The Sun

SCOTS showed the world how to party as tens of thousands took to the streets to bring in the New Year.

Up to 80,000 revellers enjoyed a stunning firework display in Edinburgh and danced the night away to music from Biffy Clyro and The Charlatans.

Ayrshire rockers Biffy described playing at the capital's official street bash as a massive "honour".

Around 5,000 people packed into Glasgow's George Square for The Bells while X Factor's Wagner wowed party-goers in Stirling by performing in a kilt.

Millions of others around the globe also enjoyed spectacular bashes. Tens of thousands were in London's Trafalgar Square and there were lavish celebrations in Sydney, Singapore, Hong Kong, LA and New York.
