Match of the weekend: Chelsea v Liverpool
Chelsea will beat Liverpool fairly comfortably at Stamford Bridge on Sunday because they have a lot more quality among their ranks than Kenny Dalglish's side, and don't be surprised if Fernando Torres suddenly rediscovers his form.
The Spaniard was a sullen sulk in a Liverpool shirt earlier in the season, but now he has got his move he will most probably remind everyone of what he can do when he's up for it: that is hugely disrespectful in my book, but the Anfield club will be the first to cop it.
Liverpool have added the talents of Luis Suarez to their side, but there is no doubt that they are still a long way behind Chelsea in terms of all-round quality, and their defence is a liability.
If you look through the two teams, it is abundantly clear that Chelsea have more quality all over the park and I fully expect Carlo Ancelotti's side to prevail with relative ease.
The potential combination of Didier Drogba and Torres is an irresistible one, and the prospect of the pair locking horns with a pretty slow and sluggish Liverpool back four should not bear thinking about for Reds fans.
Player to watch: Fernando Torres
Torres owes Liverpool an apology for the way which he laboured through his final stint with the club, looking frustrated, lethargic and almost entirely uninterested.
The Spaniard's body language did nothing for his team-mates or the club's fans, and had a pretty corrosive effect on everyone: he should feel embarrassed about the way things ended on Merseyside.
That said, I expect the striker to be a rejuvenated presence in the Chelsea line-up, and I can see him tearing up the Reds at Stamford Bridge with a point to prove to his new adoring fans.
Will he score against Liverpool on Sunday? Probably. The script appears to have been written for Torres to produce a rampant display at the weekend, and it could well be a torrid afternoon for the Reds' back four.
Upset of the weekend: Manchester City v West Brom
I have selected this match as the potential upset of the weekend due to Manchester City's incredibly dour and negative approach, and I believe that mindset could be their undoing once more.
West Brom are down in 16th place, but the Baggies play some very positive, enterprising football under Roberto Di Matteo, and I expect them to come away with at least a point at the City of Manchester Stadium.
City have the perennial problem of having to balance rotating a glut of talent while attempting to find consistency to allow players to settle into the side: the spirit can often be lacking as a result of such turbulence.
Di Matteo is likely to send out his side in a very attacking, 'we've got nothing to lose' spirit, and the Italian will be rewarded for that attitude against his more defensive, conservative compatriot.
Under pressure: Ian Holloway (Everton v Blackpool)
I am a big fan of the Blackpool boss, and what he has achieved since taking over at the club is truly remarkable.
But having said that, the Tangerines are on the slide and appear to be replicating the slump which Hull City suffered after their improbable start to top-flight football.
Blackpool's momentum seems to have been extinguished, and Holloway is now under pressure after a series of absurd issues in the media, and that has had a negative effect on his side.
Four successive defeats leave the club loitering in the bottom half of the table and, with Holloway constantly in the media and attracting a huge amount of publicity for himself, it does not help the players focus on the job in hand.
Everton are a very difficult team to beat, particularly at Goodison Park, and I can see Blackpool's form taking another dip as Holloway's tumultuous season continues to slowly unravel.

From tartanrod71 on Fri Feb 04 06:28PMYou're full on @#$% Parker, Liverpool have plenty of quality with many players finding great form recently. Torres thinks he's gone to a bigger club and he thinks Drogba is the best striker in the world! Well here's a reality check mate, Liverpool have 5 European Cups and have not won anything whilst Torres has been at the club. Chelsea to my knowledge have never won a European cup! Which is the bigger club? Liverpool... Fact!
