A PSYCHO schoolboy convicted of bludgeoning his ex to death to win a free breakfast was last night facing life in jail.

Trusting Rebecca Aylward, 15, went on a date with Joshua Davies, 16, hoping to restart their romance.

Instead, baby-faced Davies clubbed her over the head several times with a rock the size of a rugby ball.

Cheers erupted from the public gallery as the jury found him guilty of murder, on a 10:2 majority verdict, after deliberating for three days.

The impassive 6ft teenager finally broke down as the judge warned he would be sentenced later for an "indefinite duration".

A statement from Rebecca's family said: "The pain and horror of losing Rebecca in such horrendous circumstances cannot be put into words.

"Since that Saturday in October 2010 our lives have stopped.

"Rebecca was killed in a senseless and barbaric act. She died at the hands of someone she loved and trusted. We will never forget what he did to her or forgive him for destroying our family."

Rebecca Aylward

Clever Rebecca, who dreamed of becoming a lawyer, had been dumped by Davies after a three-month romance and messaged friends on Facebook: "Better to have loved and lost than to be stuck with a psycho for the rest of your life."

But she still had a crush on Davies and agreed to meet him in woods in Aberkenfig, near Bridgend.

Davies told friends in a cafe how he had plotted he would poison Rebecca with deadly foxgloves, drown her in a river or throw her off a cliff. The Swansea crown court trial heard Davies texted a pal: "What would you do if I actually did kill her?" He replied: "I'd buy you breakfast."

Two days before the murder Davies, who described himself as a "psycho", texted: "Don't say anything but you may just owe me a breakfast."

His pal replied: "Best text I have ever had mate. Seriously, if it is true I am happy to pay for a breakfast. I want all the details. You sadistic b*****d." He signed off with a smiley face.

The murderer showed friends Rebecca's body lying face down and saying "look at her face".

Evil Davies, who want to be Prime Minister to restore the death penalty for killers, then created a false alibi by posting on Facebook he was watching Strictly Come Dancing.
