AN electrician's stomach inflated like a balloon when compressed air from a power tool blew up his backside.
Gareth Durrant needed life-saving surgery after the hose blasted up his shorts in a freak accident.
He suffered a torn bowel and severe damage to his intestines.
The 26-year-old, who has trouble eating and cannot work, is now suing bosses in a case starting today.
The horror happened as he was wiring a caravan at Willerby Holiday Homes in Hull, East Yorks.
It is not clear how the power line went off.
Gareth, who has a three-year-old son with wife Sarah, 25, said: "It felt like I'd been blown up. I can't tell you how painful it was."
The Health and Safety Executive is still investigating.
