The sun set on their wedding celebrations just last night. But this morning it was business as usual as the newly married couple went back to their daily routines - albeit with a smile.
Instead of jetting off for a honeymoon in the sun, Zara Phillips returned to the marital home in Gloucestershire alone, while her new husband Mike Tindall joined the England squad for a training session ahead of his team's match against Wales next week.
It's not the most conventional start to married life, but as a committed sportswoman herself, Zara understands just how important it is to focus on one's trade.
Going solo: Zara Phillips today returned alone to the home she shares with Mike Tindall in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, while her rugby star husband attended a training session in Bagshot
In fact, the honeymoon was not only postponed so that Mike could attend training with the England squad, but also so that Zara, a world class equestrian and eventer, could fit in some training herself for the upcoming Gatscombe Park horse trials this weekend.
Zara, who will be keeping her maiden name in a break from Royal tradition thanks to its ties to her own sporting career, is set to retire her trusty horse Toytown at the event this Sunday 7 July.
The former World Champion, who was awarded an MBE for her services to equestrianism, will find a new horse to take her to the Olympics in 2012 after Toytown suffered a string of injuries.
It was great, lads! Mike Tindall shares a joke with his England teammates at Penny Hill Park training ground in Surrey on the morning after the wedding
Working off the wedding breakfast: Tindall joined the England squad today as they prepared for next week's match against Wales
While Zara had time to catch her breath before her training gets underway though, Tindall was afforded no such luxury.
He had made the most of the wedding celebrations - partying in his morning suit until 2pm the day after the nuptials at Holyrood House - and was no doubt still feeling the after effects.
But if the venison and chocolate fondant - and pints of beer - of the indulgent wedding breakfast were weighing him down, he didn't let on.
As he headed out on the pitch at Pennyhill Park in Bagshot, Surrey, regaling his teammates with tales of the weekend's wedding, he looked the picture of ruddy health: Mike Tindall the rugby star, party animal - and happily married man.
Dishevelled but happy: Zara leaves Holyrood House the morning after the wedding party, while Mike Tindall, still in his morning suit well into Sunday, takes stock of the impressive surroundings
Well groomed: What a contrast! A perfectly coiffured, delighted Mike and Zara leave Canonbury Kirk en route to Holyrood House where the revelry that would continue well into the following afternoon got underway
