Ronnie Corbett's Comedy Britain, ITV1, review - Telegraph.co.uk

The series set out to explore enduring elements of British comedy. It began with double acts, opening with Morecambe and Wise. Corbett took Miranda to Fairfield Halls in Croydon, where the duo had famously performed live in 1973. At the theatre, Corbett surprised her, we were told, by having an orchestra ready and waiting to play Eric and Ernie's signature tune, Bring Me Sunshine, as she stepped out on stage. She certainly looked surprised. What was she supposed to do? Dance? She made a game attempt at it. Then she took out a brown paper bag and handed it to Corbett, wondering if he could do the paper bag trick that Morecambe used to distract the audience as Wise attempted to show off his talent as a singer, by holding it out and pretending to catch something thrown from the stalls. Corbett did it perfectly.
