As the dust settles after three crazy and fun-filled weeks of Celebrity Big Brother, Channel 5 bosses didn't have much time to get the place ready for the new tenants.
Because tonight, less than 24 hours since celebrity winner Paddy Doherty was the last to leave the Hertfordshire house, 14 members of the public were welcomed inside its walls for the start of Big Brother 2011.
This year's line-up - which include a self-confessed lothario, a holistic healer, a Harry Potter extra and a former Miss Manchester, could prove to be an interesting one with, just like previous years, an eclectic bunch of people ready to battle it out to be crowned this year's winner.
The new gang: These are the 14 contestants who entered the Big Brother house tonight hoping to be crowned the winner of this year's show
Tonight the contestants - who are all under the age of 30 - came face-to-face for the first time as they entered the house during the 90 minute show presented by former Big Brother winner Brian Dowling.
But who are the lucky 14 and have they got what it takes to become the winner of Big Brother 2011?
Each is aiming to make their mark and enjoy their few weeks in the spotlight with the hope of riches and fame, but with the danger of ridicule.
Channel 5 took over from Channel 4 which dropped the show last year after broadcasting it since its launch in 2000.
Housemates include Louise Cliffe, 25, a legal secretary who took the Miss Manchester title wearing an 8 dress, and Harry Blake, 22, who runs three businesses and reckons he will bring a 'touch of class' to the house.
THIS YEAR'S BIG BROTHER CONTESTANTS:
MAISY JAMES, 19
The aspiring presenter and actress is single and works as an Abercrombie and Fitch store model. She describes herself as 'naturally clever, self assured and confident' but claims other girls are often jealous of her. Her party trick is the limbo, she can't cook and is 'extremely untidy'.
ADEN THEOBALD, 18
Studying psychiatry, he says he is a 'cool nerd' with an IQ of over 160. He says he is a player but is also 'the kindest person you would ever meet'. He has a stiletto fetish, claims he can fit his whole fist in his mouth, is a whizz in the kitchen and says bad-mannered people wind him up.
HARRY BLAKE, 22
He's young, rich, upper class, '150% Tory', runs three businesses and wants to retire by the age of 35. His hobbies are Chinese Kick Boxing and looking after racehorses and has a girlfriend. He hopes to bring a 'touch of class' to Big Brother and won't be happy unless he makes the final.
LOUISE CLIFF, 25
The former Miss Manchester wanted to join the army before becoming a model. She likes drinking beer and eating chips and is a self-confessed geek with a love of Bargain Hunt and Antiques Roadshow. Her ideal man is David Gandy and she would like to meet someone in the house.
ANTON MURPHY, 23
The record producer runs his own label in London and considers himself confident, charismatic, educated and mature. He said girls fall for his humour and good looks and if he had one day left on earth, he would love to take Cheryl Cole on a date. He will annoy the other housemates with his snoring.
ALEX ROSE, 18
Works in McDonalds and is a 'one-of-a-kind-pink-obsessed-Geordie'. She doesn't drink, owns a convertible with 'Barbie' emblazoned across the side, loves her gay Chihuahua, Tinkerbelle and wants to marry Dappy from N-Dubz one day. She refuses to eat anything strange as part of a task.
HEAVEN AFRICA, 30
A holistic healer, she describes herself as 'a different species, certainly not human'. If she had one day left on Earth, she would 'do a skydive, a bungee jump, and travel somewhere really exotic'. A vegan, she will only cook meat for the housemates to keep them happy.
THOMAS O'CONNELL, 20
The retail sales assistant says he is a party animal who is infectiously energetic. He once challenged Ms Dynamite to a dance-off but she declined because 'clearly she knew she'd lose'. He wants to treat the house as his home but says he can be quite nosy which may be off-putting.
Student Aden Theobald, 18 who is aiming to become a psychiatrist says he has a fetish for stilettos and claims to have an IQ exceeding 160, which would give him a higher score than Albert Einstein.
Bosses of the show are promising the usual twists to keep the contestants on their toes over the coming weeks - including kick-starting the show with former Playboy Playmate Pamela Anderson keeping them company this weekend.
The new home for the show has had a trial run with Celebrity Big Brother over the past three weeks - which was won last night by My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding star Paddy Doherty.
REBECKAH VAUGHAN, 28
A club hostess, she owns a detached house with six bedrooms and a walk-in wardrobe filled with hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of clothes, bags and shoes. She runs a dance school for underprivileged children in her spare time and works with the Samaritans. She is a claustrophobic and an insomniac and hopes the Big Brother experience will teach her to trust other people.
MARK HENDERSON, 28
The single sales assistant describes himself as 'a modern day Jester', has a soft spot for animals and has a phobia of egg-whites, stating 'I don't like the way it moves'. He is accident-prone and loves to play pranks, once wearing a clown costume to give a speech at his best mate's wedding. he wants to find love in the house and wants to keep himself amused at all times while in there.
FAYE PALMER, 19
A competitive wrestler, her professional name is Darcy Steele. Since leaving uni she has dedicated her life to her career and goes to the gym twice a day and lives on a strict diet regime. She describes herself as the kind of person that girls would despise and boys would drool over. She has a phobia of spiders, clowns, small spaces and balloons and is scared of the dark.
The housemates also include a teetotal belly-dancing gymnast Tashie Jackson, 21, who has been a Potter extra, while Faye Palmer, 19, is a competitive wrestler with a clown phobia who fights under the name of Darcy Steele.
Heaven Africa, 30, has been modelling since the age of nine and now works as a healer but reckons she will stop at nothing to win, declaring: 'I'm determined to take the crown at all costs.'
Bosses of the show - hosted by Brian Dowling - are promising the usual twists to keep the contestants on their toes over the coming weeks.
JAY MCKRAY, 27
A fitness instructor, plumber, DJ and barber, he works out six days a week and last year was named the best looking lad in Newcastle in a local competition. His dream job would be either a singer, rapper or presenter like his idol Keith Lemon. His mum is his 'best pal', he doesn't tolerate bullies and says that a clean house will make him happy. He is excited about the tasks in the house.
TASHIE JACKSON, 21
Multi-lingual Tashie speaks five languages, is a keen belly dancer who has performed in music videos and she appeared as an extra in a Harry Potter movie. Teetotal, she loves being the sober one on a night out. Her ideal man is hunky and muscly and she likes a man to do the chasing. Tashie is self-diagnosed with OCD, and believes girls feel insecure around her and she might be evicted for being over the top.
AARON ALLARD-MORGAN, 30
He is on a crusade to rid the world of swearing and cut his 10 day holiday in Ibiza short when he found out he'd made the Big Brother line-up. A father of one, Aaron loves his hair and claims to cry every time he has it cut. He likes singing and said if he was on X Factor he would come third. He falls out with people all the time and believes the world will be watching his every move.
Sandi, Bath: "She is a glamour model - Google her and realisation will dawn upon you that she has no qualms about "heavy makeup"...or "baring her body" for that matter!! lol :P" .......I've just had a look at her website. She is not a glamour model. A glamour model poses topless or nude. Her portfolio is a mix of high fashion shots, underwear (the sort you find in men's magazines like GQ or Maxim but not lad's mags like Nuts etc!), her in a jumper, evening dress, then simple jeans and vest top. Some heavy makeup as can be expected of a model, some natural makeup. The point is her job is one thing, how she is as a real person is another. The fact she chose for the public not to see her in a skin-tight mini-dress and massive stilettos like some of the other girls says a lot. I think she's beautiful and like the look of her so far!
