Radcliffe given no-trim nudity rule - The Press Association

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has revealed he is to bare all once more - and has been told to avoid any intimate grooming.

The actor, who has already stripped off on-stage in the West End and on Broadway for Equus, said the director had warned him not to trim his pubic hair.

The 22-year-old is lined up to play beat poet Allen Ginsberg in John Krokidas' forthcoming thriller, Kill Your Darlings.

Radcliffe told Heat magazine: "I've just been having a discussion with the guy who's directing my new project. It might have a bit of nudity and he said: 'Just to let you know, if you're getting naked, no landscaping of any kind. This is the 40s and you're playing a Jew.'

"I was like, 'Pretty much there anyway, mate! Not a huge amount of maintenance going on'. I mean, there's a little bit, obviously, for courtesy," he added.

Radcliffe - who stars in horror film The Woman In Black - said he has no qualms about screen nudity.

He said: "I'm comfortable with my body."

But Radcliffe joked he would never be able to compete with his buff Harry Potter co-star Rupert Grint.

"I'm not going to try to compete with Rupert on the arms front. His dad is a big guy, so if anyone was going to get the proper muscleman build, it was Rupert. You'd have to search pretty hard to find a more handsome ginger," he said.

Jack Huston is on board to play Jack Kerouac, while Elizabeth Olsen will portray his wife Edie Parker in Kill Your Darlings, scheduled for a 2013 release.
