MICHAEL OWEN'S future looks set to be revealed in the next 24 hours after the striker dropped a hint on Twitter.
The former England international has been without a club all summer after being released by Manchester United.
Owen had been linked with a sensational return to Liverpool in recent days after the Reds failed to add to their strike force on transfer deadline day.
But Anfield principal owner John W Henry seemed to pull the plug on a return for the 32-year-old yesterday.
In an open letter to fans, the American wrote: "Our ambitions do not lie in cementing a mid-table place with expensive, short-term quick fixes that will only contribute for a couple of years."
And Owen now appears to have found a club with Tony Pulis' Stoke the favourites to sign the forward.
The ex-Kop hero tweeted a picture last night of his boots and shin pads with the caption: "The tools of my trade are stacked and ready to go!"
New Marseille loanee signing Joey Barton then asked: "Where you off mate?"
Owen replied: "I will tell you on Wednesday!"
