Allegations that millions of dollars have been paid to guarantee that Azerbaijan win two boxing gold medals at next year's London OIympics will be investigated.
The International Amateur Boxing Association says it will look into the allegations.
BBC TV's Newsnight on Thursday has reported that money from Azerbaijan was paid to World Series Boxing, a franchised league supported by the AIBA.
The association organises the boxing at the Olympic Games.
The association's president, Ching-Kuo Wu, said on Thursday the BBC claims were "totally untrue and ludicrous".
However, he added that he would investigate them; a move welcomed by the International Olympic Committee.
The IOC urged the BBC "to make any evidence they have available to AIBA and to our Ethics Commission."
