The 20-year-old uploaded a seedy video of himself which punters then forked out around 5 to watch.
Lascel is to appear on X Factor again tonight and tomorrow.
He denies making money from the video.
Show bosses were left horrified last night following the discovery.
The handsome singer who wowed judges on the show with his stunning audition features in a disgusting six-minute video.
It is believed to have been shot using a webcam and shows Lascel lying on his own in the nude before going on to perform a sex act.
His "musical bars" tattoo can be seen on his left arm.
Lascel uploaded the video on to the website the name of which is too vile to publish.
Punters then paid around 5 to download and watch it the price going up or down depending on the video's popularity.
Contributors get a cut based on the number of downloads.
The revelation shatters the image he has been trying to project on The X Factor.
A source said: "I'm pretty sure Tulisa and the other judges wouldn't expect Lascel to be involved in anything like this.
"You can clearly see everything. Lascel was only 18 or 19 when he did it last year, but he was desperate to make money.
"It was at a time when he was finding it hard to get a job."
During the X Factor audition, on September 10, Lascel revealed he was in foster care from the age of four because his mum Pauline has a bipolar disorder.
He grew up in 25 foster homes. Tearful Pauline was at the audition and heard him sing for the first time.
Lascel, from Brighton, performed The Kings of Leon hit Use Somebody. In extraordinary scenes following his performance, he brought his mum on stage in front of the judges who all stood and applauded.
Kelly Rowland was reduced to tears. Louis told him: "You've got that thing that we're always looking for, raw talent and you've got it in bucketloads."
Lascel will be seen on both tonight and tomorrow's ITV1 shows where he will discover if he has made it to boot camp.
A source said: "This has come as a massive shock to everyone on the show. Lascel came across as such an innocent, polite young man who had overcome a very challenging start in life.
"To know he would do this on the internet is mind-blowing.
"He was either seriously strapped for cash or involved in a dark world. The X Factor is family viewing. Many people that have dealt with him are livid."
Lascel, who has also appeared on ITV1's Daybreak, declined to comment last night. But a pal said: "Lascel is mortified. Yes, he filmed himself performing a sex act, but he's adamant he did not profit from it. He thinks someone else uploaded the video to the site."
