Soldier mum Lynette Pearce, who gave birth to a baby boy on the Afghan front line, is due to leave hospital to start maternity leave.
Lance Bombardier Lynette, 28, of the Royal Artillery, has been having tests at Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital following her shock delivery at Camp Bastion in Helmand.
She arrived in the UK on Friday after a team of paediatricians were sent to escort her back.
Fijian-born Lynette, a former captain of Fiji's women's football team, will recuperate at Baker Barracks, near Havant, Hants.
Her son was born six weeks' premature last Tuesday, five months into her tour.
A pal said: "She's getting a lot of support from all her friends in her regiment."
