The parents of six children killed in a fire at their home in England have pleaded not guilty to manslaughter charges.
Mick Philpott, 55, and his wife, Mairead, 31, appeared at Birmingham Crown Court on Monday via video link from prison.
They had been accused of murder but the charges were downgraded.
Mick Philpott held his head in his hands and was heard to sob as two of the six charges were put to him.
Five of their children, aged five to 10, died in the May 11 fire at their home in Derby, central England.
Their 13-year-old brother died three days later in hospital.
A third defendant, 45-year-old Paul Mosley, also pleaded not guilty to killing the children.
The three defendants are expected to face a five-week trial from February 11.
