Scotland shock Ireland at Murrayfield - Sky News

Greig Laidlaw's boot helped Scotland to a stunning 12-8 comeback and upset of Ireland in their Six Nations encounter at Murrayfield.

Laidlaw's four second-half penalties sealed the win for the Scots - who had been 8-0 down shortly after half-time.

Ireland had led thanks to a Paddy Jackson's penalty and Craig Gilroy's try four minutes into the second half.

The visitors hammered at the Scottish line in the closing stages, knowing a try would be enough for a win but the home side's defence stayed strong.

Scotland moved into third place in the championship table behind unbeaten England and Wales, who also have four points following two wins from their opening three matches

Their interim head coach Scott Johnson was delighted with the result, but stressed that the contest showed there was work for his players to do.

He said: "I am happy for the boys because it showed a different side to us.

"We probably should have been well behind at half-time and I think we showed great resolve.

"If we combine the resolve and the skill-set we think we can, we can do some damage."
