"That's just boring waffle," Davis harrumphed when Herbert repeatedly refused to address what he would consider to be a satisfactory turnout for the elections for police commissioners. "Yes, yes, yes," Davis later screamed like a fish wife. "What is it? Why can't you just answer a simple question?"
Davis wouldn't talk to me about the dramatics, but it is a bore having to listen to someone seemingly losing his cool first thing in the morning. It may be Davis felt he could pull rank on Herbert: the presenter came sixth in a recent Pink List of prominent homosexuals, whereas the minister came in 14th.
Sir Hugh's regret
Sir Hugh Orde may be one of our top cops, but even he couldn't pull strings to get tickets for the Paralympic Games. "I myself have failed to get any," he glumly admits.
