NEW DELHI: If you are yet to ditch Internet Explorer 6, a web browser released in 2001, now is the time to do it. Unless you want to be called dumb. According to a study by AptiQuant, a psychometric consulting company in the US, the average IQ of people using Internet Explorer 6 is just above 80 points. In comparison, people using Opera browser were found to have an average IQ of over 120 points.
The study, which was made public on July 28, reveals that in 2006 the average IQ of IE6 users was above 100. This means that in the last five years, smarter users have already moved to other browsers. For its study, AptiQuant offered free online IQ tests to over a 100,000 people and then plotted the average IQ scores based on the browser on which the test was taken.
