Lewis Hamilton allegedly dumped girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger because she wanted to start a family with him.

According to The Mirror, The X Factor USA judge was keen to settle down and have babies with Lewis, but the F1 racing driver ended their four year romance, telling friends: "I'm not ready for a family."

Scherzinger is said to be devastated following their break-up, and is unable to focus on her work after Hamilton called off their relationship.

A friend of the couple told the newspaper: "Lewis decided they had to part, she wanted more than he could offer at this stage in his life."
 
Lewis confirmed news of their split yesterday, stating: "These times are sent to try you, it's about how you pull through. I have my family who are helping, so I feel pretty good. We're friends and we can move forward. I'm trying to keep focused on business."

33-year old Scherzinger is said to be struggling to come to terms with the break-up, with a source revealing: "Nicole asked for time off given everything that's happened, but her busy schedule just didn't allow it."

They added: "She's completely devastated but has no choice other than sticking a big smile on her face and going about her engagements."

The former Pussycat Dolls singer has since been spotted on a date with Rihanna's former beau Drake, where the pair dined at a Hollywood restaurant together.
