With her arms crossed and head down, the US X Factor judge, seen arriving in London from Los Angeles yesterday, couldn't bear to raise even half a smile.
A source said: "Nicole has been going through a tough time too.
"She's juggling work and trying to get over the split with the man she thought she would end up with." Can't imagine her boss Simon Cowell is very sympathetic.
After all, he's been through plenty of break-ups.
Perhaps she should take some relationship advice from him like Simon with his exes, she would probably end up pals with the F1 driver in no time.
Hopefully Nicole will cheer up in time for her performance on our version of X Factor on Sunday.
Producers won't want to lose any more viewers.
