Motorists demand Osborne fuel talks - The Sun

Unleaded hit an average of 137.44p per litre while diesel was at 144.67p per litre after reaching a new high last month.

Experts fear more rises are on the way as crude oil prices rocket due to fears over conflict in Iran.

HSBC economists said oil was becoming a bigger threat to the global economy than Greece.

And Brit motoring chiefs said families are already at breaking point.

They blasted George Osborne, who is refusing to cut fuel duty in this month's Budget and plans a 3p rise in August.

The RMI Petrol Retailers Association said: "The Coalition has trousered an extra 4billion from motorists through higher duty and VAT. The Chancellor has to act now to stop the greatest rip-off of the 21st century."

The Treasury last night said it had HELPED motorists in the last year by axing planned duty hikes.
