A 15-year-old British national has died after falling from the balcony of a building in Dubai.

Harry Harling, who is believed to have been from Woking in Surrey, is thought to have suffered fatal injuries when he fell from the 11th floor.

The teenager is understood to have moved to the United Arab Emirates with his family nine years ago.

He was a Year 11 pupil at Jumeirah College, which said it was deeply saddened at his death.

"Our sympathies are extended to his family and friends," it said in a statement.

Dubai Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his fall, but are not treating it as suspicious.

A Foreign and Commonwealth Office spokesman said: "We are aware of the death of a British national in Dubai and we are providing consular assistance."

Tributes have been paid to the teenager on the social network sites Facebook and Twitter.

One person wrote: "Miss you man. If only you knew the gap you've left in everyone's hearts. Love you so much."
