Stacey Soloman: I feel guilty for having cig during pregnancy - The Sun

She was stripped of the title by Foxy Bingo earlier today as a result of her cigarette shame.

Stacey, 22, was also a member of the Foxy Mum judging panel and nominated for the second year running, alongside other controversial stars including Natasha Giggs.

Foxy Bingo explained its move in a statement, saying: "Following stories in the newspapers in recent days, Foxy Bingo has taken the decision to stand Stacey down from her position as judge on Foxy Mum and from the voting shortlist for Foxy Bingo Celebrity Mum of the Year 2012."

It was also added that she had apologised to the firm for her actions, but respected their decision.

The company said: "Stacey has apologised to the people at Foxy Bingo and is sorry and embarrassed by her actions.

"We understand Stacey is doing everything she can to stop smoking and in recent times has cut back dramatically. She's naturally disappointed but accepts Foxy Bingo's decision."

Earlier today the singer said she deserves the heavy criticism she received after being caught having a cigarette just two months before she is due to give birth.

Speaking in a phone interview on ITV1's Loose Women, she said: "All of the responses are something that I deserve. I don't for one minute think I can sit here and say it is ok so I can accept that kind of criticism and although it's not nice to hear, I know that its true (the health risks) and maybe that will give me more power to stop it and nip it in the bud."

She also told how she thought some reactions have been a little bit harsh despite the health risks to her unborn child.

And Stacey insisted that she IS a good mum.

She said: "There's ups and downs to people being critical because it makes you think, 'Oh my God, I really must sort this out', and you feel even more guilty than you already do because, don't get me wrong, I felt guilty before all of this came out. But there is a little a bit of you that thinks I love my children with all my heart so some of the comments are a little bit harsh."

The I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here winner said that she has been trying to kick the habit and was already feeling the strain of failing to do so before the revelation piled on the pressure even more.

"Its absolutely devastating, not just because I saw them (pictures) in the paper its something I'm not proud of and I'm really, really struggling with in general.

"It's not just because everyone knows now. It's something that I don't want to do and that I'm not happy doing, so it's horrible."

She added: "I really have been and am in the process of giving up before these pictures came out.

"It's a horrible habit and I care more about my children than anything in the whole wide world so anything I can do to give up means more to me than anything else or what anyone thinks."

Stacey already has one child four-year-old son Zachary with ex-boyfriend Dean Cox.

She is due to give birth to her first child with fianc Aaron Barham on May 7.

On Sunday she told a newspaper that she felt she wasn't letting her fans down by smoking.

She said: "I don't think I've let down my fans. But I do get a little stressed at times and a ciggie helps me calm down.

"I know it doesn't look good but I only have a few cigs a day."

Yesterday, her publicist Max Clifford told The Sun: "Stacey has been smoking maximum one or two cigarettes a day but she is desperately trying to quit.

"She's very embarrassed about it all and is hoping all this will maybe push her into giving up."
