Firth reveals Tinker Tailor worries - The Press Association

Colin Firth has admitted to first-day jitters on the set of his new film Tinker Tailor Solider Spy.

The King's Speech actor stars in the movie, based on John Le Carre's novel, with a who's who of British actors, including John Hurt, Gary Oldman, Mark Strong, Benedict Cumberbatch and Toby Jones.

Colin, who plays spy Bill (Tailor) Haydon in the spy film, said: "I don't think any actor is so selfless to only luxuriate in ensemble work, but I was absolutely up for it."

He said it was "a thrill to be surrounded by brilliant people" because it "lifts your own game".

But he admitted: "There's an initial moment when you walk on the set and think, 'Oh, I might be out of my league'."

Colin said the idea of bringing the book - which he hadn't read before getting the role - to the big screen "seemed very cool to me".
