'I love Jessie more than ever' - The Sun

The 50-year-old catering boss admitted he'd humiliated the soap beauty when, on the day before the pair's wedding, it was revealed he'd sent flirty messages to former flame Karen Short including a sex picture of Jessie.

Actress Jessie, 39, who plays Walford's Kat Moon, ditched Vince on August 29 - the day of their ceremony saying she was "heartbroken".

Speaking to This Morning's Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby today, Vince admitted he'd betrayed Jessie, but still hoped their relationship would get back on track.

Explaining the texts, Vince said he'd sent them after he and Jessie had a row and he'd been out drinking with some pals.

Vince said: "I could safely say quite truthfully I wasn't thinking. We had a little dispute I've got an apartment like a mile down the road we had an argument which escalated I couldn't even tell you what it was about escalated into a Mexican standoff.

"To be honest I went out with the boys got completely plastered, got a text from an ex-girlfriend just saying, 'I can't believe you are getting married'. I text back 'You know what I don't think I am' because we'd had an argument and it just went back there and I suppose the text got a little bit saucier I was drinking.

"It was flirtation which got completely carried away."

And he brazenly explained that the storm over the texts had made him fall further in love with Jessie.

He added: "All I thought was it was ridiculous. I'd never do it again. I'm sorry I felt a bit of a whatever. I didn't feel great and from that moment on it made me love her more."

In a grovelling on-screen apology to Jessie, real name Karen, Vince said: "Her name's Karen, it's not Jessie, Karen I done something really ridiculous I know I've humiliated you, I know that but it doesn't stop me loving you but it doesn't stop me wanting to be with you."

Insisting he wasn't courting publicity, Vince said: "She'll be furious. Furious that I'm speaking publically about it. But at the end of the day, I just want to say, almost like to the nation, I'm really sorry I made a real, real idiot of myself and of her."

Vince continued: "I just want you to know from the bottom of my heart I'm sorry. Nothing more than that I can't do anything more than that.

"I'm just going to keep my head down and hopefully slowly things will start to rebuild."

He added: "Hopefully between now and two months or whatever things will thaw and... even if we just talk that's the most important thing."
