Ben Howard has seen his album sales on Amazon rise a staggering 4,600 per cent overnight following his win at the Brit Awards.

Howard won two awards, taking home the prizes for British Male and British Breakthrough Act and has seen interest in his album 'Every Kingdom' boosted with the subsequent TV coverage. Howard performed during the two-hour broadcast, playing his single 'Only Love' to an estimated audience of 6.5million viewers.

As well as Ben Howard, fellow winners One Direction have seen sales of their album 'Take Me Home' increase, with British Band winners Mumford And Sons' album 'Babel' benefitting from a 670 per cent uplift. Best Album winner Emeli Sande's 'Our Version Of Events' increased by 764 per cent.

"In terms of chart impact, Ben Howard was the big winner of the night," said Xavier Garambois, Vice President of EU Retail at Amazon.

"While most people own albums by Mumford And Sons and Emeli Sande, there was certainly less who were aware of Ben Howard's music, let alone had purchased his album. The double Brits win last night has resulted in a massive uplift in sales and he could be at the top of the music charts for a long time to come."

Frank Ocean, Lana Del Rey, The Black Keys and Adele were among the other winners at the Brit Awards last night.

Mumford And Sons scored the award for British Group, beating Muse, The xx and One Direction as well as Alt-J to receive the coveted gong. Alt-J, however, revealed that they will be playing this year's Glastonbury Festival to host James Corden. Click Brit Awardshere for a full list of winners.
