Vicky Pryce In New Chris Huhne Abortion Claim - Sky News

The ex-wife of Chris Huhne has claimed he tried to force her to have a second abortion.

Vicky Pryce, on trial for taking her husband's speeding points in 2003, told Southwark Crown Court that the former Energy and Climate Change Secretary was a 'bully'.

She had already revealed in court that she had undergone a termination in 1990 after feeling pressure from Mr Huhne that was "very, very firm".

Under cross-examination, she said a few years later she fell pregnant again: "The same argument ensued, it was all booked and I was meant to go (for the procedure) that morning.

"I woke up and knew how I had felt about the previous one and knew I couldn't do it."

Their child was born and Pryce said Huhne had loved and raised the child normally.

The prosecution argued that the incident proved that she could stand up for herself.

Pryce described her husband as a highly ambitious politician.

She said: "He was someone who wanted to achieve his aims and nothing would come in his way of doing so."

Her phone and email records were analysed in court and she was also asked about her defence of 'marital coercion'.

She said: "It is clear from my emails: if you are pressurised and bullied you should not be prosecuted."

Pryce has already told the jury that she found it 'morally repugnant' to accept the points but that her husband had forced her to sign the form.

After protesting his innocence for months, Huhne dramatically changed his plea to guilty earlier this week and is likely to face a prison sentence.

Pryce denies perverting the course of justice and her trial is expected to conclude next week.
