His hard-partying lifestyle was bound to catch up with him eventually.
Famous for his strung-out, scrawny appearance over the years, Pete Doherty shocked guests at his jewellery launch last night with his bloated appearance.
The 31-year-old rocker sported a noticeably fuller face and stomach as he debuted his collection, Albion Trinketry, at the Westbourne Grove Joseph store.

The Babyshambles front man wore a tight camel-coloured jumper over a white vest and black trousers at the West London party.
The dowdy ensemble was a far cry from the alternative rocker threads of suits and bowler hats he is known that are his usual style.
He was sporting a longer, Beatles-style hairstyle these days too - a change from his trademark artfully messed-up 'do.
Doherty has made several attempts at rehab, the latest in 2007, and is understood to have received outpatient treatment for heroine addiction earlier this year.

During his court appearance in January for heroin possession a judge told him: 'I've also heard you are receiving treatment for your drug addiction.'
He added: 'He does look better in physical appearance. Last time I saw him he was sweating quite profusely.'
While Doherty has certainly lost the appearance from his drug-addled years, the rocker seems to be suffering the after-affects of years of abuse.
Pete scrawled the brand's name on the store wall and modelled some of the 15-piece collection, which includes necklaces, bracelets, cufflinks and rings.

Kate Moss' ex-boyfriend has collaborated with luxury jewellery Hannah Martin, a former Cartier designer, on the new line.
A statement for the collection, available exclusively through Joseph, says: 'Doherty is inspired by an older, more refined British gent- from an age where the pocket watch topped all polished goods.
'This nostalgia, in silver, rose gold and black diamonds is well captured- as is a rock star feel in chunky chains - a Doherty staple.'

While he rubbed shoulders with the fashionable crowd last night, the musician had more serious matters to attend to today.
The troubled star appeared at Thames Magistrates Court charged with possession of cocaine.
Police arrested him during the investigation into heiress Robin Whitehead's death from a suspected overdose in January.

The 27-year-old, a member of the affluent Goldsmith family, was making a documentary about Doherty in the days leading up to her death.
He appeared in court with two friends, Peter Wolfe and Alan Wass, who were also charged with drug offences.
The case was adjourned for a committal hearing on January 14.

His jewellery designs owe a lot to the gold chunky chain/ teddy bear/ hoopy earing ornaments worn by a certain sector of society! So closely involved was he in the designs that he cant even spell the name correctly! Bet Kate is kicking herself for not hanging on to him.
