My obsession with Katie Price left me crippled - The Sun

OVER the past four years Kesse Williams has spent more than 10,000 copying her style icon Katie Price.

She forked out on hair extensions, beauty treatments, posh make-up and outfits - and even became a model.

But her obsession with the glamour girl had disastrous consequences this year.

The Katie wannabe took up horseriding, "the perfect opportunity to be even more like her". And just six weeks later she broke her back in a horror accident.

She spent five weeks in hospital undergoing two operations, gruelling physiotherapy and, after four weeks bedridden, had to use a wheelchair to get around.

It destroyed her three-year relationship with her boyfriend and, although she is now walking again, her burgeoning modelling career hangs in the balance, depending on how well her scars heal.

Kesse, 23, sayd: "I went from being a young girl with everything to nothing."

Unsurprisingly, she has abandoned the idea of becoming an accomplished rider. But she's still obsessed with former Page 3 girl Katie - also known as Jordan.

And when she has fully recovered, 32C Kesse has her sights set on a boob job to match her idol's 32DD chest.

Kesse, from Cotes Heath, near Stafford, says: "Before the accident I enjoyed the perfect lifestyle. I had a wonderful boyfriend, my modelling career was going from strength to strength and I was learning to ride. In so many ways I was just like Jordan."

It was in February this year that Kesse was having a riding lesson - dressed head to toe in pink gear from Jordan's riding range - when a sudden bang startled the horse.

It darted to the left, sending Kesse flying the other way and she landed with a loud crack on the riding school floor.

She recalls: "I wasn't in pain but couldn't move so I just lay there freezing as someone called for help. The ambulance arrived and they had to cut through my Katie Price jodhpurs and hoodie to work on me. I was gutted about that.

"After a CT scan at North Staffordshire Hospital the doctor said I wasn't going anywhere for a while. I'd broken my back and it was one of the worst he'd seen."

Kesse first noticed Katie on I'm A Celebrity in 2004.

Kesse was working on the packing line in a factory at nearby Stone, producing computer parts and memory cards.

Mousy-haired Kesse dreamed of a more glamorous lifestyle and was won over by feisty Jordan's antics with Peter Andre.

She says: "Jordan was the perfect role model for a young girl like me who wanted to make a better life for herself."

Kesse began her transformation, using cash she'd saved, and spent 500 on extensions to resemble Jordan's crowning glory.

Next she got false nails, at 32, which she has retouched for 15 each fortnight. Kesse also spends hundreds on expensive make-up.

Generally her friends and family were supportive. Only her shocking five-times-a-week sunbed habit worried them.

She says: "Jordan wouldn't dream of going pale but I opted for sunbeds rather than fake tan. I spent about 60 a month visiting the salon five times a week.

"It made my skin look older and more leathery but I didn't care.

"My saying is that if you want to look beautiful there's a price - a Katie Price.

"Unfortunately I can't use sunbeds now because of the scars from my operations.

"They're still healing and would be left permanently discoloured."

Kesse's modelling career took off, and she left her factory job to devote herself to it. She earned up to 45 an hour appearing in MTV music videos and mags such as Fast Car. With a wardrobe crammed with 200 pairs of shoes and dozens of revealing outfits, Kesse reckons she's invested about 5,000 copying Katie Price's clothes.

She and her handsome electrician boyfriend Nick Cornwell, 22, were even dubbed Jordan and Peter by mates who thought they resembled the couple.

When her idol went from blonde to black, Kesse followed suit. She spends up to 100 a month retaining the look.

She bought Katie Price's Standing Out style guide when it came out last year and even plumped for a 300 lip-filling procedure to get a massive trout pout.

She says: "If I was better and had the money I'd go the whole hog and get lip implants, a boob job, liposuction on my legs and bum and loads of Botox."

During her stint in hospital, Kesse had to lie flat on her back for a month.

She had sustained a serious burst fracture, which shattered her vertebra and damaged two discs. A titanium vertebra and two titanium discs had to be inserted plus a cage to hold everything in place.

The operation left Kesse with an 11in scar down her side and she needed two intensive physiotherapy sessions a day.

She is now on the road to recovery.

Kesse says: "The accident changed my life immensely. When I got out of hospital I used a wheelchair for months, which made me respect the difficulties faced by disabled people. Now I get physiotherapy twice a week and although I can walk fine, I'll never be able to run.

"Modelling is out of the question for now and depending on how well my scars heal I could be left without a job.

"I don't blame Jordan for any of this but I wish she promoted safety for those who take up horse riding, as well as her clothing line.

"She should launch her own line of pink riding safety gear. I'm sure it would look fabulous, but even that won't tempt me back on to a horse."
