BOWLER Shane Warne admitted he has split from his estranged wife yesterday - hours after lover Liz Hurley revealed she had separated.
The cricket legend and dad of three released a statement on his website saying he was no longer with Simone Callahan.
Actress Liz, 45, had told on Sunday how she had split with tycoon husband Arun Nayer months ago after news broke of her affair with Aussie spinner Shane, 41.
Pals of Arun - left reeling by news of Liz's fling - yesterday said they were "stunned" at the model's announcement that she had been separated from him "for months".
Liz's mother Angela yesterday also added to rumours about the couple's marriage breakdown - by admitting even SHE wasn't aware of her daughter's split. Speaking from her home in Whitchurch, Hants, she confessed: "I didn't know about it. I must go."
Meanwhile, it emerged that Liz and Shane will spend New Year together as a couple - after she hatched plans to reunite with her lover in Australia before the final Ashes Test with England. The pair had been plotting the romantic get-together for weeks before their secret romance was exposed.
Liz and womaniser Shane yesterday spent hours on the phone - with the "lovesick" Brit urging the Aussie to "come clean" on their budding romance.
His web statement read: "Sadly and unfortunately, Simone and I split up a while ago. Close friends and family were informed at that time. It is a private matter so we did not make it public. We remain friends and will continue to be good parents."
Shane and Simone - parents of Brooke, 13, Jackson, 11 and Summer, eight - divorced in 2007 but began a trial reunion in 2009. The serial womaniser was stripped of the Australian vice-captaincy in 2000 after bombarding British nurse Donna Wright with erotic texts.
Liz also announced her split online, writing on Twitter: "Not a great day. For the record, my husband Arun and I separated a few months ago. Our close family and friends were made aware of this."
She married Arun in a string of extravagant ceremonies in 2007, selling magazine rights for millions. Arun was said to be "furious" yesterday that she openly flirted with the cricketer while they were married - calling it a "betrayal" and an "embarrassment."
Millionaire Arun, 46, was yesterday still holed up at the couple's Cotswolds farm while Liz remained in London with son Damian, eight.
But a family friend of the businessman last night said in Mumbai: "It is clear to us that Liz has not behaved in a manner fitting of a wife.
"In India we believe a woman should be properly divorced before embarking on another relationship. This is a betrayal and an embarrassment for Arun. His family are very proper and this makes him look like he has been cuckolded - which is very embarrassing for him indeed."
She arranged with Shane to get production staff for his new talk show to fly her to Sydney on behalf of a cancer charity she supports.
Liz yesterday refused to answer the door at her London home - but she took to Twitter again to thank fans for their "very, very nice messages" since the scandal broke on Sunday.
