THIS is the boy of 16 who bled to death after three youths chased him down a busy street and slashed his throat. Police described the killing as "sickening".
One witness said she saw two teenagers playing with a knife on a bus with one saying "I can't wait for this", moments before Yemurai Kanyangarara was murdered near a Lidl store.
Florist Sam Read, 19, tried to help the schoolboy as he lay dying on the pavement in Welling, South East London. She said: "There was blood pouring from his neck." Her mum Angela, 48, added: "We ran into the high street and flagged down an ambulance. The paramedics rushed over but couldn't save him."
Yemurai attended St Columba's Catholic School in Welling and was a keen footballer. About 100 friends wept and laid flowers at the scene yesterday.
A youth was arrested after Friday afternoon's killing but released without charge.
?A BOY of 13 was being quizzed by police last night on suspicion of stabbing a man to death. Andrew Jaipaul, 21, was attacked by up to 20 youths in Holloway, North London. Two 17-year-olds are on bail.
