LONDON — Christine Bleakley and Adrian Chiles will step down as the presenters of breakfast TV programme Daybreak to focus on other peak-time ITV shows, the broadcaster confirmed on Friday.
The announcement followed news leaks that the presenters were going to be axed.
Chiles will prioritise his position as the anchor of the channel's live football coverage, while Bleakley will concentrate on her roles for a range of other shows, ITV said.
This includes her new role as co-host of "Dancing on Ice" alongside Phillip Schofield, it said in a statement.
Daybreak has had an average audience of more than 800,000 viewers and a peak of 1.4 million, according to ITV.
The channel will name new presenters for Daybreak soon, it said.
