Duchess of Cambridge wows in McQueen - Belfast Telegraph

Tuesday Dec 20 2011

Britain's Duchess of Cambridge stunned in a strapless Alexander McQueen gown at the Night of Heroes military awards on Monday.

The brunette beauty attended the ceremony at London's Imperial War Museum with her husband, Britain's Prince William and her brother-in-law Prince Harry, who are both serving officers.

The Duchess received many admiring glances for her fitted black velvet gown, which flattered her slim frame with a frilled sweetheart neckline.

The dress was created by her favourite British label, Alexander McQueen. The label's creative director Sarah Burton designed Catherine's stunning lace wedding dress earlier this year.

The £4,000 frock displayed the 29-year-old's trim figure and exceptionally toned arms beautifully.

She paired the gown with Prada satin heels. Catherine chose a smoky eye make-up look, with her hair gathered loosely in glossy chestnut waves.

She completed the look with a stunning ruby and diamond encrusted necklace.

Both Prince William and Harry looked dashing in smart, black dinner suits.

Catherine is set to spend her first Christmas with the British royal family in a few days time. She will join Britain's Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the family at Sandringham Manor in Norfolk to begin her festive celebrations.
