A BRITISH schoolgirl has been arrested after members of staff at her school allegedly became ill by drinking water from a poisoned tea kettle.
The two school workers in Torquay, southern England, complained of stomach problems after drinking from a tea kettle that allegedly contained a noxious substance, the Devon Herald Express reported Wednesday.
The girl, 17, whose name and school cannot be identified, was held by police then released on bail pending further inquiries.
Detective Constable Steve Fleetwood said, "The inquiry centres on claims that an allegedly noxious substance may have been put in a kettle which caused two members of staff to fall ill with stomach problems."
A school spokesman said police were attending the school on an unrelated matter when the poisoning allegation was made.
