Jim Murphy is the Shadow Secretary of State for Defence. He has been the Member of Parliament for East Renfrewshire since 1997. Until May 2010 he served in the Cabinet as Secretary of State for Scotland.
David Miliband has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for South Shields since 2001. He is Ed Miliband's brother and it has been suggested that he may relaunch himself at the Labour Party Conference 2011.
