Queen Elizabeth has given her husband Prince Philip a new title to celebrate his 90th birthday, making him honorary head of the United Kingdom's navy.
The Duke of Edinburgh became Lord High Admiral on his birthday on June 10, a position that has been held by the Queen since 1964.
The title recognises the time Prince Philip spent in the navy, which ended in the early 1950s.
During World War II he served with the Mediterranean and Pacific fleets, reaching the rank of commander.
